This year has been nothing short of eventful. With the help of our amazing employees and industry partners, we have overcome incredible challenges and we are proud to reflect on some of these milestones. Below is a collection that reminds us of how far we’ve come this past year.
Field of Frames
Captured from a photography drone, the above image showcases a “field of frames” and highlights the challenge of the unpredictable building materials costs in 2021. Though construction costs are generally known for their market volatility, few expected the extent to which the spike would reach this year. To combat this trend, we saw our team double down on our commitment to careful planning and coordination as we continued to deliver quality multifamily projects to our clients.
The Calm After the Storm
During the historic Texas winter storm of February 2021, photographer Clark Cabus bravely ventured out to the completed Hebron 121 Station multifamily complex. Using a photography drone, he captured this stunning view of the 90-acre, multi-phase resort-style community in Lewisville, Texas.
Attention to Details from the Ground Up
KWA reached many project milestones in 2021. In December, we completed The Truman, Phase II of Arlington Commons, the largest HUD Section 221(d)(4) property built by KWA to date. The image above showcases the scale of the room and the high ceiling juxtaposed with the worker on the ladder, illustrating the monumental work and careful detail that goes into each beam and metal frame. With staffing shortages hitting just about every industry you could name this year, we were grateful to have such dedicated trade partners throughout our projects.
Team Building
Teamwork makes the dream work! Above, the KWA team collaborates to complete the framing for the Atlantica at Burleson Apartments.
Despite the ongoing pandemic, increasing building material cost fluctuations and widespread product shortages, the team at KWA has continued to persevere. And, according to a recent report from the Texas Real Estate Research Center, the Texas multifamily market has managed to surpass pre-pandemic levels for both occupancy and rent growth. With multiple projects across Texas completed this year and more in the works, KWA is proud to do its part in supporting continued economic recovery.
With the spirit and drive to achieve greatness even during periods of uncertainty and surmounting obstacles, KWA’s confidence in our team for the coming year is without question. We can’t wait to see all that we accomplish in 2022 and beyond.
